The online Master of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program from University of Dayton’s School of Education and Health Sciences (SEHS) equips you with the knowledge and competence to serve people with varied behavioral health needs.

Designed for professionals who want to become a board certified behavior analyst® (BCBA®), the online ABA program will teach you to identify, implement and assess the need for intervention for individuals as well as groups.

The Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI) has verified the courses in the University of Dayton’s online ABA program as meeting the coursework requirements for eligibility to take the BCBA examination.

The University of Dayton’s online ABA program is led by expert faculty and can be completed in as few as 21 months. As a student in this immersive online program, you will:

  • Master common behavior-analytic skills and methods for assessing the cause of problem behavior.
  • Learn effective intervention strategies that can be applied to almost all clients.
  • Develop an understanding of basic concepts that can be adapted into advanced techniques used for behavior change.
  • Collaborate with classmates and instructors online during weekly classes and in person during a three-day immersion, building a strong network of like-minded peers.
  • Prepare to take the BCBA exam to become a certified behavior analyst.

Choose Your Track

The University of Dayton is proud to offer two ABA master’s track options, both of which include our ABAI verified course sequence:

  • Supervised Fieldwork Track (42 credits): In this all-inclusive track, you will complete 1,500 fieldwork hours during the course of the program and receive placement and supervision support from faculty and dedicated placement specialists.
  • Independent Fieldwork Track (30 credits): In this track for professionals currently working at a behavior analysis site, you will complete 600 fieldwork hours during the course of the program and have the flexibility to complete 900 fieldwork hours independently.
